3 EVERGREEN WAYS TO PREP YOUR WEBSITE FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

Still need to prep your ecommerce site for the holidays? Don’t panic. Here’s 3 quick ways you can spruce up your website in time for the holidays. Use these tips to level up your website anytime of year.

1. Check Above the Fold

Anything “above the fold” is what’s immediately visible to the viewer when the page loads. This is especially key on your homepage. You’ll want to make sure your content has everything it needs to captivate the reader, share about your offer and call them into to action (see value propositions below). Think festive imagery, fun copy, and a button with a clear call to action.

2. INCLUDE A VALUE PROPOSITION STATEMENT AND CLEAR CALL TO ACTION

So you know you need some catchy copy to showcase “above the fold,” but what does that look like? Let’s dive in deeper into that value proposition piece. A value proposition should be a key component of your brand’s messaging. This statement tells what you offer consumers, why they should choose you over competitors, and the benefits that will make their life better.

What’s your special sauce? What’s your why? Who do you serve and what do they benefit from using your product?

Let’s start here, fill in the blank to craft your own value proposition:

“We [what you do] for [who it’s for] so they can [problems you will solve/ key benefits to the customer].”

Having this copy front and center on your site creates a clear message to your customers. Now let’s encourage them to buy with a clear call to action.

What action do you want your reader to take on your site? Call them into action and include an easy to navigate button. Try some of these CTA’s out!

3. Make your Homepage Shoppable

Your homepage is valuable real estate. Your potential customers should be able to easily shop products from the start. Add some of your best sellers or featured collections to the home page to get shoppers browsing your products right away.

BONUS: Add a Promotional Pop-Up

Create a fun holiday promotion to engage customers, encourage sales and generate leads. It’s a 3 for 1! Feature an email capture pop-up with some sort of sale incentive. This could be a percentage discount, free shipping, or some sort of fun holiday bundle deal.

Something to note:

The faster you can get customers their coupon code the better. If you send the code via email, make sure you’ve got it set up to send immediately, especially with a double opt-in setting in place. You want to make sure there is no time delay so you don’t lose potential sales!
